Andy Crook
In 2023 Andy directed "All the Moments' by Patrick O'Sullivan for the Scene+Heard Festival in Smock Alley, Dublin and David Mamet's 'Speed the Plow' for Verdant Productions. In August he directed 'Becoming Maggie' by Donagh Humphreys to rave reviews, at The New Theatre, Dublin. In November he directed Jack Harte's 'Vulture' again at The New Theatre where he also had a public reading of his play 'Acts of Displacement'.
Last year Andy was filming in Sligo for the feature film "Horse Shoe". He then directed David Quin's 'A Modest Proposal' at The New Theatre, which will tour Ireland in 2025. In November he directed two pieces in The Dublin Riots at Axis Theatre.
So far in 2025 he has directed a production of Jack Harte's new play 'The Sailor's Dream' and a remount of 'Becoming Maggie as well as two plays in the New Writing Week for The New Theatre. Andy's piece Late Night Station was performed as part of the Scene+Heard Festival in February, directed by Jed Murray. Last year Andy won an 'Activate Bursary' at Backstage Theatre, Longford, to work on creating a new piece, 'Earth, Man Machine' with composer Denis Clohessy and art director Mary Flemming. He has just recieved project funding The Arts Council to further develop the piece and create a full working script in August of this year.
